Drovers Cycles Dual Slalom
In 2015, the Llandod Cycle Fest, the Drover Cycles Dual Slalom was held on the golf links by kind local farmer Gareth Davies. Whilst his field was perfect for the fast down hill dual slalom for all ages, last year the organisers want to make the most of activity around the lake, and it has been decided to run a dual slalom competition again on the less steep but no less competitive event - on the lower common.
Drover Cycles is based in Hay on Wye, right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons with bike hire, a fully stocked shop and repair centre available on site. They’re on Forest Road in the infamous book-town of Hay on Wye, right on the boarder between Wales and England at foot of the the Gospel Pass – one of the highest mountain roads in Wales and a must for any road cyclist in the area. If you prefer mountain biking there’s no shortage of hills; they’re on the northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and within an hour or two drive of the legendary south Wales trail centres: Cwmcarn, Afan Valley and Bike Park Wales being the closest.
They’re also big fans of touring & commuting by bike and also family cycling, so they have bikes for everyone. Bike hire is available in Brecon, Abergavenny, Hereford, Builth Wells, Talybont on Usk, Crickhowell to name a few.
We’re delighted to welcome Drover Cycles back to the Llandod Cycle Fest in 2017.
